The study on biological activities of silver nanoparticles produced via green synthesis method using Salvia officinalis and Thymus vulgaris

In the present study, Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from Salvia officinalis and Thymus vulgaris, known as phytotherapy plants. The obtained silver characterized using SEM, XRD, FTIR, UV/Vis spectra. antioxidant capacities of officinalis-mediated AgNP (SO-AgNP) vulgaris-mediated (TV-AgNP) analyzed in vitro 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl iron chelating activity assays. DPPH activities 83.74% 57.17% for SO-AgNP TV-AgNP at concentration 200 mg/L, respectively. Both green AgNPs exhibited good activity. addition, DNA cleavage SO-AgNPs investigated with agarose gel electrophoresis technique. showed single-strand that TV-AgNp effective against bacteria fungi, antimicrobic assessed minimal inhibition (MIC). Remarkably, highly cell viability biofilm effect. also demonstrated slightly antimicrobial photodynamic after LED irradiation.
